What is it?
For always-on avalanche safety, our snowsports gear is equipped with built-in RECCO reflectors that make you searchable by organized rescue teams searching with RECCO detectors on foot and in the air. The technology functions as a two-part system.
How Does It Work?
First, the detector emits a radar signal like the beam of a flashlight. When it hits a reflector, it echoes back and tells the rescuers where to look. The stronger the signal, the closer it gets to the wearer’s exact location.*

When a RECCO detector finds a RECCO reflector, an alert is signaled and directs mountain rescue teams to the wearer’s location. *RECCO reflectors do not substitute the tools necessary for companion rescue like an avalanche beacon, personal transceiver, or probes and shovels.
